- Mr. Turton's site is highly recommended reading for anyone coming to teach
English in Taiwan. Unlike most other sites this is not a site made up of
links, but of experiences, research and first hand knowlege.

Horizon English services is a site by Chris Murphy the author of "Four
Years Without Socks." There is some very funny material at his site about the ups and
downs of teaching in Taiwan. Great original content.

Oriented has some great resources (there is a pretty active forum for buying
and selling scooters and furniture, finding roommates etc.) Unfortunately, most of the
posters are in Taipei at this point.

The Nation Sun Yet-Sen University has Mandarin language classes for
foreigners as well as classes about Asian politics, geography, management
etc. You must apply early to take classes.
